Our Principles of Fair Trade
Nuna Village is built on the principle of fair trade. We help producers of our natural products promote sustainability. We pay a "fair price" at the farm gates for our products.
Nuna Village works with marginalized producers and workers in order to help them move towards economic self-sufficiency and stability. Our practice of fair trade principles aims to allow our producers to become greater stakeholders in their own organizations as well as play a wider role, and achieve greater equity, in international trade.
Nuna Village producers receive a fair price. A fair price to us is a living wage in the African context.
Also, we pay our producers stable minimum price regardless of the price in the global market. We offer financial and technical assistence to our producers such as short term loans towards the purchase of raw materials, quality training, product feedback.
We purchase all packaging materials for our producers and training them on packaging and labelling for the international market.
Many producers cannot produce because they cannot afford An educated consumer is a conscious consumer. So at Nuna Village, we provide pre-payment options for all products we export so that producers can have sufficient money to cover raw materials and living expenses during the production process.
We provide training to our producers on environmental sustainability in production.
We work to ensure environmental sustainability in production. Nuna Village producers are encouraged to develop products based on sustainable use of their natural resources, helping them to preserve their natural environments for future generations.
